For fast-flowing rivers, the system utilizes non-contact radar sensors that employ high-frequency microwave signals (26–80 GHz) to measure the distance to the water surface with high stability. Meanwhile, for monitoring narrow observation wells, submersible hydrostatic pressure sensors are more suitable. These slim piezoresistive probes accurately measure fluid depth and are supported by automatic barometric pressure compensation.

The AWLR system's capability to operate in remote locations is further supported by an energy-independent telemetry architecture. Each field station is equipped with an ultra-low-power data logger, solar panels, and batteries designed to withstand tropical weather conditions. Water-level data is processed and transmitted in real time using 4G LTE/NB-IoT, LoRaWAN, and satellite communication, supported by lightweight communication protocols such as MQTT and HTTPS. Through cloud-platform integration, users can immediately monitor hydrograph visualizations, analyze historical trends, and receive automated Early Warning System (EWS) alerts via SMS, WhatsApp, email, and other digital communication channels in real time.

Another important application of PT Luwes Inovasi Mandiri's technology is tropical peatland conservation, where declining groundwater levels can significantly increase the risk of land and forest fires as well as large-scale carbon emissions. The AWLR system is specifically designed to support government peatland monitoring requirements, particularly for Critical Point Monitoring, helping ensure that the Peatland Groundwater Level (TMAT) does not fall below the safe threshold of -0.4 meters.
